YSN
Bylaws & Suggestions
The YSN
Referral Network is a networking leads group dedicated to
providing quality leads and referrals for its members. Quality
leads and referrals are the core to any small business and by
providing a forum for the exchange of leads and referrals.
Mission
Statement:
This organization shall exist to help member businesses expand
and grow by referring new customers, clients and businesses to
one another.
Leadership:
The group's leadership team is comprised of a president and
secretary.
-
The president will conduct meetings and facilitate organization's
function and cooperation, and may serve as a community
liaison.
-
The secretary will assist the president by maintaining membership
lists, taking minutes, correspondence, assisting in projects
and will assume the president's duties in his absence.
Group
Bylaws:
1. As a courtesy to all members please be 5 minutes early
for each meeting
2. You must
talk to Terrie about inviting a guest to any meeting
3. If your
company offers more than one service, as many do, please talk
and promote only your category in the meetings as
fairness to the other category that may be filled. We only allow
one company per industry in each group. The group is comprised
of non-competing business professionals and entrepreneurs. It
will consist of one representative per industry. For situations
of specialization or over-lapping membership, the member who
would be affected by the overlay will decide acceptance.
An example of specialization
would be an attorney who specializes in Family Law and one who
specializes in Business Law. A person's business focus should be
to promote what generates the bulk of their business (70%). Each
person should be designated with a focus area. If someone in a
similar type of work gets the bulk of their business in an area
different from the first person's area, it is not considered a
conflict and both people can be part of the referral group. This
can help both people pass leads back and forth.
4. We
strongly encourage you to contact each group member, as
well as their website and get to know them so you can easily
refer them and get to know them!
5.
Members are required to attend meetings. Members who
miss meetings will be asked to leave the group when
their failure to attend becomes a problem for the
group. If something comes up for you that you believe to be a
problem, please call your group leader and discuss.
Attendance is mandatory (within reason), it's impossible
to form a cohesive group if members are absent. It is however
impossible for every member to attend every meeting, YSN
understands that. We do not believe in disciplining other
professionals for missing meetings, but repeated nonattendance
can be cause for removal from a group to make room for members
who want to participate. This
is key to the success of a group. We meet every week and
attendance is critical, so you can only miss four meetings per
year. However, if you cannot attend a meeting, you may send a
substitute which will not count as an absence.
After four absences in a year or three consecutive
absences member will be contacted and informed their membership
may be in jeopardy. Extenuating circumstances will be given
separate consideration. Consider these weekly meetings with same
level of importance as a business appointment.
Attendance
sheets will be tracked and each business will be reviewed for
their attendance and membership continues at the discretion of
the membership.
-
Members need to provide as
many quality leads, referrals and tips as
their business can generate. You are required to come to the
meeting prepared.
Referrals, Leads & Tips:
A lead
is defined as you submitting a specific name, event or
organization to a specific co-member that you believe (but don’t
know) could benefit from the co-members services.
Example: Kristy, I heard about xyz event where they
are allowing VA’s to bid on work. The website is xyzlegal.com
A
referral is defined as a specific and qualified contact that
you have spoken to already and are submitting to your co member
because that company requires their professional services.
Example: Kristy I would like to refer you Mary Brown
from XYZ lawyers as they are looking to hire a VA next week.
Their # is 123-456-7890 and they know you will be calling
because I spoke to Mary.
A tip
is defined as a useful piece of some general information
that could be used by everybody in the group.
Example: Guru.com is a FREE website that allows you to post an ad for
temporary professional support from applicants all over the USA
or the world. You can post an ad and will receive several
answers. You can then review the applicants and get in touch
with the ones you find best suited for your needs.
